I'll never look at Vogue the same way again...
from some of the scenes in the movie, you can see how influential and powerful Anna is, talking to department stores CEO's , checking collections before they are displayed, there is one scene with Stefano Pilati while she was checking his collection, it was obvious she didn't really like it and how he looked terrified! it was nice to see that, designers always look and sound very tough and confident, but not so much infront of Anna, also the snobbish editors I ran into in Paris and how they behave infront of her! :) It was also nice to see how she supports young designers ( Thakoon in the movie), and how if she believes in someone, she can easily boost their business, with probably a single page in the magazine.
Last night I was flipping through the Oct. issue, and looking at the editorials, or the interviews, makes you think how did they end up with this, how many other pictures they took, why did they pick up those pictures, and everything it makes you go through the whole movie again but with the material in hands.
here is a trailer of the movie incase you didn't see it yet, and if you've seen it, let me know what do you think!

The Bride wore Balenciaga!

The ceremony took place at the Palazzo Grassi, a white marble palace built in 1748-1772 and owned by the Pinault family since 2005. The home has a special meaning for the couple because It's where they first met when he held a gala party there in 2006.

Queen Rania in DC
On Tuesday, she launched the April 20-26 Global Action Week organized by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) to fight illiteracy worldwide with 75 million children currently out of school. “It’s time for a new chapter in the global illiteracy story.”

Yesterday, she delivered a key note at the 8th Annual Global Philanthropy Forum Conference in DC. “The need for global philanthropy is more urgent than ever before”. The Queen said.
Holding a jar of home-made apple jam in her hand, the Queen explained how the answer can be found in the story of a 9 years old Jordanian girl, Leila, who showed appreciation to her community through a remarkably simple gesture. “Leila’s lesson is that philanthropy means so much more than just giving money,” Queen Rania said as she narrated the little girl’s extraordinary story. For more about her speech, please click here.
Later in the day, The queen, and her 3 children, took a walk down the streets of Washington, and enjoyed the nice weather.
I wonder why Rania haven't met Michelle Obama..yet! I remember in a recent interview they asked her about Michelle, and she said: "I havent met her yet, but I'm sure she is nice". :)
I wonder if the Queen is planning to stay in the States until May 4th to attend the annual MET ُexhibition Gala, or as some call it "Oscars of the east". This years theme: Model as Muse, Co-chairing Marc Jacobs, Justin Timberlake & Anna Wintour. Queen Rania attended the 2oo7 MET gala: Poiret King of fashion and wore Giambattista Valli. I hope she will be attending! :D
And I'm guessing we'll see her on the Best Dressed list of Style next week ;)

The September Issue
The September Issue is a new documentary that premiered Jan. 16th at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Excellence in Cinematography Award.
The documentary talks about the preparation of Vogue's Sep. 2007 Fall Issue. The biggest issue ever published in the history of magazines, of 840 pages.
Director R.J. Cutler, follows Vogue's Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour, and her larger than life team for 8 months, Jan.-Aug. 2007 and focuses on Sept. Issue of Fall fashion.
R.J. approached Ms. Wintour 2 years before they started shooting.
"He seemed very committed to the idea of what goes into the issue and obviously that is something in particular I'm interested in, because I do feel there is a fascinating side to fashion." Ms Wintour said about Director Cutler, she continues to say "I'm thrilled that it is a creative process and the agony , the joy, the incredible hours and passion that everyone who works at Vogue puts into the magazine, which is what R.J. decided to focus on."
Grace Coddington, Wintour's colleague for 20 years, the magazines creative director, and genius stylist wanted nothing to do with the making of the film, to a point where she told Ms. Wintour that she would quit if she allows them to film!!
"The first thing she said to me was GO AWAY! She couldn't throw us of the office, because she is not the boss! Anna is the boss and she had invited us in. But she wasn't happy to see us. And when Grace is unhappy to see you, that's not the place anyone wants to be in. God Bless her, she eventually gave us a chance." Director R.J. said.
This is a documentary that I literally can NOT wait to see. I mean do you realize that it means to be able to go behind all the closed meetings, the preparations, the photo shoots, backstage at the shows, everything that goes into the process of making the issue? To see inside the REAL Vogue! We've seen some familiar things in The Devil Wears Prada, and SATC the Movie, but this is going to be the real Vogue, The real Anna, the world of fashion, something we have always dreamed of! The Documentary will hit theaters this Sep., until then, I'll survive on YouTube Clips! :)
Will update you about it.

People I want to meet...
Im going to list some of them and what would I want to ask them, advices, help,... lets see.
Lets start with Queen Rania Of Jordan. I've always been a big fan of the Queen, because of her ultimate elegance, charm, great looks, nice smile, nice taste& being gorgeous.
If I meet Q. Rania one day I'll ask her: who picks your clothes? who goes shopping with you? whats your favorite brand other than Prada? would you wear young (amatuer) designers creations? would you accept a dress, as a present, from a young Jordanian talented fashion designer? and how can I work with you? How does it feel to have your world turned upside down over a night by becoming the beautiful, great Queen you are now? I sooo would love to talk to you about this!
Tom Ford. Tom ford, hasnt only been a role model, and someone who impressed me for a LONG time, he's been like... gorgeous talented man, a geniues businessman and great visionary! If I meet him, I'll ask/tell him: I need your advice in starting a business, creating an image, how were you able to be the mastermind behind gucci for 10 years, and creating designs that remains till this day, a great success? how can you be so gorgeous at 46? would you be my mentor? and I want to tell you that I dont usualy wear suits, but looking at your mens wear line, made me want to have a suit made by you. You are such a great person, I hope I'll be able to meet you one day! :)
Anna Wintour. When you mention her name, you get the feeling that people are scared! are you that scary? Anna wintour has the ability to left a designer soooo high and make him/her so famous by one article! :D I really appreciate her support for young fashion designers, that means she appreciates talent, and is willing to help. I would like to ask you, how is it possible to run such a great huge magazine, and be this person who you are? I really admire you.
karl Lagerfeld. Ok, well I said alot of things about Tom Ford and how he is a role model, but Karl Lagerfeld falls into a totaly different category! I mean i doubt really I'll be able to describe how I look at this man. Not only it would be a dream , A REAL DREAM coming true to work with you, but cant actuly describe it :) I want to ask you, how, on earth, can your designs be so modern, so trendy, so up to date with the latest trends, yet you ALWAYS keep the CHANEL identity? each collection you amaze me, to the point where I start day dreaming! :) I've seen couple of documentaries about your work at CHANEL, I watched them a 1000 times, and I can never get enough! I salute you from the bottom of my heart, I love you, and I dream of the day I will meet you! :)
Amanda Harlech, How does it feel to be the muse of the greatest fashion house in the world? do you feel like you are the luckiest girl ever? do you actuly realize that when you wake up? when you are alone, do you say "OH MY GOD I'm the muse of Chanel and Karl" ? If you do, I wonder how that feels! I would really love to know.
Marc Jacobs, I do NOT have to remind about this, but you are the CREATIVE DIRECTOR of LOUIS VUITTON. do you realize how powerful this is? :) how does it feel to be able to walk in their Champs Elysees store and literally pick up anything and just walk out? well this is probably not comparable to being the designer of this brand, AND being able to have anything LV custom made for you! :) you are so talented and I look up to you just as much!
I'll let u know if I ever get answers to the questions and make sure not to go crazy and keep my cool when I see them. wish me luck! ;)
